Eldrum: Untold Ironclad Vagrant guide

Minor corrections: We’ve fixed a few small slips in the original post: the sickle with Parry is the Iron War Sickle, the Iron Morning Star drops from the Shadow Lion, the Falcata’s attack is Swipe rather than Sweep, and the Ironclad Vagrant has no attack that ignores armor.

Spoiler warning: this guide reveals story events, choices and endings.

Attributes: Strength 1, Charisma 4, Resilience 1 (+2), Agility 10, Perception 3. Health 119, Protection 10, Speed 2.2, Encumbrance 18 of 18.Character screen at level 12 with the XP bar almost empty. Iron Morning Star in the main hand, Crimson Falcata in the off-hand, and the combat actions Stun, Puncture, Hamstring and Swipe.

Some important notes.

Notice the EXP bar, I barely got to level 12 before the fight, so every EXP is very important and I have to do questionable morals such as slaying the lone fisher in the lake for 5 EXP.

Most important equipment there is the morning star (puncture and stun) and crimson falcata (hamstring), you can replace falcata with an iron war sickle so you can be safer with parry.

For survivability I rely on high agility to get evasion as much as possible. Also when the next turn is the enemy then switch to defensive mode, the rest stick to aggressive mode to spam hit him.

The priority is to get him 5 hamstrings, 1 stun, and 5 punctures, then the rest swipe or attack him. Always restore the aggressive mode. If he moves in next turn then switch to defensive mode, if you have the war sickle then get parry for extra safety.

Crown of wildflowers (head, 8% evasive chance) can be get after you kill Mev or getting her impaled by the knight after you tell her to stop killing the innocents. Plus it's worth it to let her die since she is just another psycho and you won't kill her in Set.

Iron morning star can be get by save scumming the loot after you kill the shadow lion in catacombs near the 1st chapel.

Crimson falcata you can get it in the hidden treasure in Graefir island, you must have cipher stone, rope, and advanced pick lock to access it. First the intel is from trapped guy in the pit in Graefir forest, then with ropes rescue him but stop him and make him spill the intel so you can get the map for the treasure.

The rest of armor is not notable. Ironclad hits really hard (32-47 per blow), so a bit of armor only takes a little off each hit, better to rely on high evasion with high agility. Do not wear the Gotterdammerung (-1 perception) since that 1 perception point is important to shorten the battle thanks to crit chance.

Accessing and killing Ironclad is only available until you go to Roeburgh. So you can grind more EXP in Set, Graefir, and Bast, just by completing their concerns and events.

Before you fight Ironclad, you can fight the drunk guy to get EXP and the most important, advantage stacking. Get a parry and shield weapon, then use your parry to fill your advantage, shield is just survivability, afterwards just spam attack him.
