Eldrum: Red Tide achievement guide

Spoiler warning: this guide reveals story events, choices and endings.

Introduction

This guide is a little rough around the edges and very spoiler heavy. Use the list of achievements above to jump to the one you are looking for and please ping me with any errors, inconsistencies, and other problems. This also liberally references the Discord and Lerajie’s Experience and Rep guide, so please note I'm not attempting to steal credit for any of this, I just compiled it here. It should also be noted that if an objective relates to another achievement, there is a link to that achievement. If one is not present please ping me so I may correct my mistake.

Credits

Lerajie for his excellent experience guide linked in Redtide-spoilers, his BC guide also pinned in Redtide-spoilers, and the many questions he answered on Discord that helped fill in the gaps. He’s a certified Eldrum and guide expert and I'm not ashamed to say I referenced his knowledge to help make this guide.

Yurei inspired me to whip this up for players looking for 100%. Thank you for the idea Yurei.

Maskpo and Insats: They made a pretty sick game, and they’ve answered lots of questions about it over the years, letting me and others see behind the curtain a bit on achievements. They’re awesome and deserve some serious props for this game and the series in general.

Everyone on Discord: Eldrum’s Discord is pretty cool as well, with a helpful community that are almost always helping out players or exploring the crevices and secrets of Eldrum. The history left in those channels make up a not so insignificant chunk of this guide, so thank you guys.

Me! I am “TheMC” on Discord. I made this guide both to assist new players and also to help get some experience on making guides, as I also plan to make a guide for Black Dust, once the dust settles a bit. Please ping me on any problems you see in this guide or any suggestions on what you think could be added to assist players. If I like it I may include it. I am @TheMC and I may or may not have an evil doppelganger running about on Discord (I’m not joking) so please make sure to @ me specifically for any problems. This link here will direct you to Discord for any followup questions you may have. discord.eldrum.com

Explorer

Visit every location.

God help you. There is no one size fits all for this question, and it can be extremely difficult to narrow down any missing locations. You can only really hope that this will naturally occur while attempting the other achievements for 100%. It should be stressed to players that locations only count if the player enters and then leaves the location.

The one spot that eludes most players is the Hydran Bridge, within BC. If it's not there and this is the last achievement you need, just ping me, and I'll attempt to help you narrow it down. @TheMC

Scholar

Read all of the scrolls, books and other scriptures.

21 total books:

  1. The Journal of Miriam Barnabas: this can be found within your home in Riverfront during BC.

  2. Cantos of Sacred Waters: this can be found within the Ocean Shrine in BC, on the altar.

  3. Proof of Citizenry (Fragment, Amended, Alek, Miriam): these are grouped together for ease of reference. The Fragment and Miriam’s proof of citizenry can both be found within your home in Riverfront. Note that you should read the fragment before having it amended, as they count as two different pieces of literature for the achievement. Alek’s proof of citizenry is found underneath Lin’s cabin, in her floorboards. The amended proof of citizenry is automatically obtained when reporting for duty at the Riverside Outpost. It should be noted that the amended proof can be used at a later point for the Inheritor achievement.

  4. NEKROPOLIS EMPEIRA: This pamphlet can be uncovered within the slums of BC.

  5. The Journal of Alek Barnabas (Pages 1, 2, and 3): These are similarly grouped together for ease of tracking. Page one can be found within the basement of the tower mill at the Killing Fields. Page two is contained within Lin’s house whenever she invites you to her cabin to talk about her brother. Page 3 is at the bar within Sickle. These are all necessary for story progression, so they should be difficult to miss.

  6. The Law of the Land: This instructional law book is within the barracks of Riverside Fort.

  7. Guttersnipe Tactics: This handbook can be found underneath the ruins of Cornerstone Keep, within Lorne’s room (cell 4).

  8. Message to Keeper Donn: This can be obtained by talking to Polyphema the Wise within the River Shrine’s poorhouse and asking for her help. Note that offending her will prevent you from gaining this. Reading this document is also key for succeeding at the second objective in the Doomsayer achievement.

  9. Memories from Talonbark Ridge and Elsewhere: This can be acquired by finding the druid map hidden underneath Lin’s floorboards (requiring a perception of 2) and following its directions from the Roadblock. From there, going into the Druid’s cave and looking behind the throne, you will discover a passage that leads to a tomb within. (Note that a torch is required for this.) This will lead to a tearful reunion with a previous companion from Untold, now at her final resting place. Inside is both the book and the talonbark spear, an excellent early game weapon that will serve you well for several fights, most notably the Trustan and Lorne fights mentioned within the Apex Predator achievement. This is also the 8th objective in the Treasure Hunter achievement.

  10. The Chant of Dark Brigade: This can be obtained by gaining Alek’s old belongings in the town of Sickle.

  11. A Letter to the King of Thieves: This illustrious letter is likely the missing piece for most players, with it only being obtained by siding with the vultures and working for the vulture queen until she decides to get hitched to the King of Thieves in a truly unholy matrimony.

  12. The Triasteen Prophecy: This is the other most likely piece of parchment (or, in this case, stone) for players to miss when attempting this achievement. This is obtained by progressing the doomsayer questline. Please reference the fourth objective within the Doomsayer achievement for more info.

  13. Old Gods of Tem Khiris: This lore-heavy book can be found within the upper level of the Forest Shrine.

  14. Scrap of Parchment: This paper is found within the lab of the Blood Ziqqurat by examining the stone wheel.

  15. The Secret Life of Elisandra Merlo: This can be found within the cabin on the ship, docked outside the Blood Ziqqurat.

  16. Levitan Apocryphon: This is found within the lab in the Blood Ziqqurat when searching for parchments.

Mark of Redemption

Get reinstated into the Militia before the game is over.

This can be accomplished by gaining a large amount of Militia reputation and siding with the Lone Guardsman in Ryke Valley. Reporting to the former general Zeno, you can then ask to be reinstated, which he will approve, given your militia rep is over 17. Reference Lerajie’s XP and reputation guide (pinned in Redtide-Spoilers) for more info.

Vulture

Kill the Lone Guardsman and do the bidding of Odessa Butcher.

When tasked with killing the Vulture Queen, hear her out instead and then join her band of brigands. For help killing the Lone Guardsman, reference the 6th objective in the Apex Predator achievement.

Savior

Rescue...

Save 17 unique people

Note: BN means that this person(s) need a Bandage to be saved. Bandages can be bought early on in the building you wake up at in the outpost. The optimal amount to initially purchase is 8, although be warned that the infirmary closes its doors after picking up your brother’s first diary entry.

  1. Claudia, BN: Claudia can be saved by simply waiting around after the start of the game. Once she runs towards you, you can either throw a rock or jump in front of her to prevent her from being attacked. Note that the rock strategy only works if you examine and grab the rock beforehand by examining the runestone and making sure to keep your distance when the encounter initially starts. After you save her, you then have to retreat and heal her before you can engage with the fighting. You’ll then see her later at the Outpost.

  2. Crooked Nikita: Crooked Nikita can be saved on the way to the slums, during the BC dream sequence. On your way into the slums, you can see two enemy soldiers attacking someone. Dealing with them and then listening to the man’s request will save him from death and also give you access to the lockpick, a very handy item for the rest of the game. This is one of two possible encounters to get the lockpick, with the other being in Ryke Valley.

  3. The River Mob: This group can also be saved in BC, at the customs house when traveling to the northern bridge. This requires you to follow the singing you hear and will lead you to a collapsed customs house, where you can save several of the singer’s friends. Afterwards you can tell them that they owe you a debt for a reward later, crucial in a few achievements like Smuggler and Croesus, and as an alternative lockpick, although this can only be claimed in Act 2. You can also give them food you’ve found for some experience.

  4. Evelyn and Marcus Whitefeather: These refugees can be saved in BC as well, encountered when traveling to Riverfront. A group will be passing through on the way there and need to be warned before they are killed. Afterwards this couple will beg you to accompany them to the safety of the City Gates. Taking them there does take some time but is required for the achievement, and as a benefit, later gives access to the Jagged Flint Sickle, the 7th objective in the Treasure Hunter achievement.

  5. Keeper Navon, BN: Keeper Navon can be found within the Ocean Shrine during BC, where you’ll have to solve a puzzle to uncover him. To begin this, you are best off initially heading to your home in Riverfront to acquire a torch. From there you should then enter the Ocean Shrine and head down to the right, towards the puzzle. Once there, you should take the clay amphora and enter the other staircase in the main room to descend into a pool of water. Beware that the air is toxic, and you will lose health the longer you stay there. From there you return to the tabernacle and heat the water to open the door. Once inside you will find an unconscious and bleeding Keeper that can be looted for the Lodestone Amulet. He will require a bandage for health. Note that saving Keeper Navon is a rather large time expense and does limit your interactions when leaving the Ocean Shrine, more specifically preventing you from fighting the Foreign Commander without him also dying. It should be noted, however, that if you keep him alive, he can later be encountered in burnt-down Roeburgh, where he will grant the player a staff.

  6. The wounded soldier in the marketplace, BN: This soldier can be found when leaving the Ocean Shrine after either taking the volcanic orb or rescuing Keeper Navon. He can be found by heading north and fighting the Commander solo. It should be noted that if you save Keeper Navon from the Ocean Shrine, he will die if you fight the foreign commander.

  7. Serlo, BN: Serlo can be found after searching around the mill in the Killing Fields. He requires a bandage to be healed. You can later visit him in the infirmary and give him some moonshine for bonus experience.

  8. The civilians at Ocean Cenotaph: These can be encountered within burnt down Roeburgh, to the northwest. They can be saved by merely fighting off the attacker that is harassing them. If you saved Keeper Navon, this is also where he can be found.

  9. The young soldier in the infirmary, BN: He can be healed by simply bandaging his wounds while in the infirmary.

  10. Griselda: Griselda can be encountered and saved when exploring the town of Hush after walking away from the town hall. After encountering her, let her guide you to the canyon and then tell her that she should get over her hardships and seek revenge instead. Kill the prowler that appears, and you can also offer the bag to her.

  11. The wounded soldiers at the northern border, BN: These guys can be patched up with bandages. All three are required. It should be noted that this is also one of the few other locations in the games to hold bandages outside of the infirmary. They can be found atop one of the watchtowers nearby.

  12. The travelers in Ranwood Forest: These people can be encountered when leaving Ranwood cemetery and heading further into the valley. They can be saved by killing the bandits harassing them.

  13. The wounded people near the church of Port Eldritch, BN: These people can be saved near the church of Port Eldritch (Surprise). They need bandages to be patched up, which can be grabbed from the priestess within the garden of wisdom.

  14. The wounded people in the garden of wisdom, BN: These people unsurprisingly can be found within the garden of wisdom. They also require bandages, so it is recommended that you prioritize either objective 13 or 14, accomplish it, and then reload to achieve the other. The player can also just bring more bandages for more experience, but this can likely be tough to accomplish without knowing beforehand.

  15. The young priestess, BN: The young priestess can be found within the burning church in Port Eldritch. The fire inside will damage you over time, and the priestess can only be carried out and saved with 3 resilience or higher, 4 for reduced damage to you. You will encounter a cultist before you reach her body, but he should be little trouble. Once outside, she will need to be bandaged up, where she will then be taken over by the knight. When saving the priestess, you can also take a black orb off her body for objective 15 in Treasure Hunter.

  16. The slave in the pit: The Slave can be found when revisiting the compound you start Act 2 in. He requires a total of 6 charisma to convince to break free. Note that a torch is also required. This achievement should potentially be accessible before leaving for Port Eldritch, so it is recommended to do so as soon as possible, as Crime Lord will appear after finishing up Port Eldritch.

  17. Atronius the Younger, BN: Atronius the Younger can be seen a few times throughout the story but can only be saved within the dark pits of the Blood Ziqqurat. Atronius can be encountered after leaving Rook’s boss area after talking your brother down from storming the room. Note that this achievement requires that you don't enter the Rook’s boss room. On your way out you will spot a slave on the floor who is revealed to be Atronius. He needs to be persuaded with a charisma of 5 and carried with a strength of 3 and a resilience of 4. This is where it gets tricky. After picking him up, you have to not look backwards and instead rush out. If done successfully, you’ll emerge with him and your family at your backs. After progressing normally, you’ll have to patch him up with some bandages.

Cartel Nemesis

Defeat every cartel enforcer.

Similar to the Explorer achievement, this can be somewhat difficult to track down but is luckily much more manageable than every location in the game. There are a total of 30 cartel enforcers spread out for you to find over the course of Act 2.

  1. The first three can be found at the Vice club, after leaving with your discoveries. After them, there are three more accompanying Crime Lord.

  2. The next encounter is within Port Eldritch, at the tavern. After talking to the harlot and learning the secret knock, you need to kill the cartel whoremonger.

  3. Another encounter in Port Eldritch occurs when asking around about the cartel. They’ll ambush you when leaving the docks and will attack you in three waves of three. Make sure to look back after fighting these groups for an extra enforcer.

  4. The next encounter is when talking to Josef Braun, where you’ll take on three waves of three enforcers. (Fun Fact: Neither Josef nor the Torturer that fights alongside him are actually included in this achievement, although they do need to be killed for the 8th objective in Apex Predator.)

  5. The final encounter occurs when revisiting the compound after leaving Port Eldritch the final time. There are two sets of two within the compound, along with the Crime Lord, although it should be noted that she isn't included in this achievement.

Lingua Divinorum

Decipher the three petroglyphs in Ryke Valley.

  1. The first can be found at the Hill Shrine, requiring 2 Perception and granting 20 Experience.

  2. The second can be found in the Vulture Queen’s cave, requiring 2 Perception and granting 20 Experience.

  3. The third can be found underneath the large boulder in the Ranwood cemetery. The boulder requires a strength of 8 and a resilience of 3. It should be noted that this can be subverted by merely letting the graverobbers pass through the Northern Border, but this is not generally recommended as it also makes the red stone maul inaccessible, killing any progression for Legacy and also making objective 11 in Treasure Hunter impossible. The Petroglyph itself requires 3 perception and grants 50 Experience.

Croesus

Earn at least 13 000 gold in a single playthrough.

This can be accomplished by taking around 2,000 gold with you to the Blood Ziqqurat and then opening the gold chest aboard the ship, granting you an additional 11,000.

Family Ties

Save both of your siblings.

This achievement can be achieved through 2 different ways.

  1. By convincing Bahemot to fight alongside you with a charisma of 8 and either 3 meats (dog steak, dried meat, and saltwater bass) or a dragon egg. The dragon egg can be found if you decide to ignore the tower when traveling to the Blood Ziqqurat. Both the dog steak and saltwater bass can be bought in Port Eldritch, and the dried meat can be found in several locations throughout the game. When arriving at the red sanctum, send Bahemot in instead. This is linked to the last two objectives in the Negotiator achievement as well.

  2. Have 6 Charisma and convince your brother not to go into the red sanctum with certain dialogue options.

Smuggler

There is more than one way to cross the eastern border... and there might be certain business opportunities for those who make the right connections.

This achievement requires you to go through the ruby mine in two different ways:

  1. Side with the vulture queen and progress her quest until she allows you access to the mine.

  2. Rescue Cap at the beginning of the game and later meet him at the tavern in Ryke Valley. There you can cash your favor and request passage into the ruby mine. (For those who need a refresher on Cap and how to save him, please reference Lerajie’s excellent burning city guide, pinned in redtide spoilers.)

Spirit of Generosity

Share the wealth. Make donations at the shrines. Help the people who need it the most.

  1. The first donation is found outside of the River Shrine. Talk to the beggars outside and donate to them. Note that this is not actually possible if you saved crooked Nikita within BC.

  2. The second donation is to donate to the River Shrine directly, which is only possible after picking up your brother’s first note and reading it.

  3. The third donation is at the Forest Shrine, requiring you to donate at the altar within. Maxing out the donation grants 25 Experience.

  4. The fourth donation is at Exodus, donating to the tribe of No. Donating 50 gold unlocks jobs to do (given that you haven’t screwed them over in the past). These jobs are also required to do the 4th, 5th, and 6th objectives for Doomsayer.

  5. The fifth donation is at the Gates of Lothar, the first accessible area in Port Eldritch.

Legacy

Find the Red Stone Maul.

The Red Stone Maul can be found underneath a boulder within the Ranwood cemetery. The boulder requires a weighty check of 8 strength and 3 resilience. (This resilience check can be handily bypassed using the mimetic helm; it can be obtained by defeating the Foreign Commander in the Apex Predator achievement.) Inside lies both the Red Stone Maul and a petroglyph, a requirement for the Lingua Divinorum achievement. It should be noted that if you allow the Graverobbers past the border, they will steal the Red Stone Maul, making this achievement impossible for that playthrough.

Hand of Destiny

Kill Wotan the Prophet and replace his left eye with a cursed ruby.

This achievement can be accomplished by discovering the red fae within the ruby mine (reference the Smuggler achievement on how to get there.) and striking up a deal with her to kill Wotan. This can later be accomplished after fighting the Abbess of Rook in Port Eldritch and traveling to Artisan Row.

Note: If you are a lore connoisseur, consider possibly reloading after accomplishing this achievement to see the ending if you go back on your deal. This also ties into the fourth objective of The Final Chapter Achievement.

Opportunist

Demand bribes from everyone at the northern border.

This can be accomplished by asking the Lone Guardsman for a job, where he will then appoint you as guard for the northern border. This achievement requires you to ask a bribe from everyone that passes through the gate, even those who should be allowed through. Note that this can interfere with progressing several other achievements, such as Doomsayer, Scholar, Mark of Redemption, and surprisingly enough, Legacy.

Inheritor

There's an old cabin somewhere in the deep woods of Ryke Valley. It was owned by your grandfather. The time has come to claim your inheritance.

This can be done by retrieving your birth certificate from the dream sequence at the beginning of the game (reference the BC guide; check credits for info) and showing it to the Keeper of the Forest Shrine.

Fellow Traveler

Recruit Lin, Trustan and Amanda into the caravan.

  1. Lin can be recruited by simply petitioning her after learning you need to leave for the town of Sickle.

  2. Trustan can be recruited by passing a charisma check of 2 and telling him of your upcoming journey to the town of Sickle.

  3. Amanda is a bit trickier, only seeming to appear at the Riverbank within the Riverside outpost after you learn of the trip to the town of Sickle. From there you can merely ask her to join you, and she will (although that might not be in your best interest for the long term and will prevent the completion of the 2nd objective for The Final Chapter). Reloading after gaining an achievement is a perfectly viable strategy.

Treasure Hunter

Finders, keepers - right?

19 unique items:

  1. Volcanic Sphere: This can be obtained underneath the Ocean Shrine, down the staircase to the right. Instead of attempting the water puzzle, you can instead smash it open and retrieve the volcanic orb inside, giving you a much shorter time expenditure and an item that will pay off significantly later, in the Blood Ziqqurat.

  2. Lodestone Amulet: This is the other side of the water puzzle where you instead attempt to solve it. You are best off initially heading to your home in Riverfront to acquire a torch. From there you should then enter the Ocean Shrine and head down to the puzzle. This simple accessory provides a +3% block chance. Saving the Keeper also allows the player to finish the 5th objective Savior achievement.

  3. Wolf Calix: This can also be obtained by opening the water puzzle and looting the room inside. While its value is not readily apparent, this can be given to either the River or Wolf shrines, both giving a monetary reward and a sizable chunk of experience. Donating it to the River Shrine nets you 50 experience and a gem. Giving it to the Wolf Shrine unsurprisingly gives better rewards, with 100 experience and a better monetary reward of either gold or gems.

  4. Chain of Basothet: A personal favorite of mine and a must-have for an agility build, this ornament is simply found by returning to the Ocean Shrine after it is destroyed but while you are still in BC and searching the area several times. This grants a +5% speed increase and a +5% evasion chance against both ranged and melee damage.

  5. Heirloom Pendant: This can be lifted off a grieving woman inside the River Shrine, requiring 3 agility. If you can go through with the merciless act of stealing an heirloom from a defenseless old lady, this ornament will provide you a point in protection. Note that this can only be done before obtaining and reading the first of your brother’s pages.

  6. Iron Khanjar: This one-handed weapon can be obtained by visiting the River Shrine and lockpicking the door to the upstairs attic. The lockpick is obtained by saving crooked Nikita in the slums of BC, which is part of the second objective in the Savior achievement.

  7. Jagged Flint Sickle: This one-handed weapon is acquired by traveling to the Whitefeather farm and searching the area. The Whitefeather farm can only be accessed by saving the Whitefeathers on your way to Riverfront during BC. To see further info on saving the Whitefeathers, please reference the fourth objective in the Savior achievement.

  8. Talonbark Spear: This two-handed weapon can be acquired by finding the druid map hidden underneath Lin’s floorboards, which requires a perception of 2 or higher, and following its directions from the Roadblock. From there, going into the Druid’s cave and looking behind the throne, you will discover a passage that leads to a tomb within. Note that a torch is required for this. This will lead to a tearful reunion with a previous companion from Untold, now at her final resting place. Inside is both a book (reference the 9th objective in the Scholar achievement) and the talonbark spear, an excellent early game weapon that will serve you well for several fights, most notably the Trustan fight mentioned within the Apex Predator achievement.

  9. Bronze Javelin: This throwable weapon is also in Rasleen’s tomb; she just has a lot of good stuff. Please reference the prior objective to find how to access Rasleen’s tomb.

  10. Wooden Godhead: This can be dug up in the cemetery within Ryke Valley. This requires a shovel, which can be purchased from the general store to the north. This item appears to have no actual uses and is instead a neat novelty depicting the face of Meym.

  11. Shroud of Atronius: This ornament can be found within the locked tomb of Atronius within the cemetery. It requires a lockpick to open. (for where to find the lockpick, please reference the second objective of Savior.) If you decide to raid this ancient mausoleum, the Shroud of Atronius is an ornament that grants 1 Agility for 1 Encumbrance. Note that this is not accessible if you allow the grave robbers at the northern border through.

  12. Black Stone Dagger: This one-handed dagger can be obtained in the Church within Port Eldritch. This dagger requires you to not aid the Doomsayers on the street near the Garden of Wisdom. At the church you must declare that you aren’t aligned with the Doomsayers. The dagger itself requires an agility of 5 or higher. If you can bear to abandon a poor, helpless family to the whims of the Ternati, this dagger is one of the best in the game and grants the exclusive feature of an extra action point.

  13. Keepsake Locket: This can be acquired by betraying best girl Gloria to Josef Braun instead of the correct way of killing them all. Gloria’s corpse can be found at her hiding spot with the locket on her cooling body. If you can bear to go through this betrayal and damn an innocent woman to death for some info, the keepsake locket will provide a fearsome 3 protection. Reloading is a very valid option after acquiring this achievement.

  14. Cursed Scythe: This two-handed scythe can be obtained by hiring Rahim, a mercenary at the gates of Lothar. He can only be found after you obtain the info from Josef and are heading towards the embassy. Rahim’s cost can be cheapened with 3 charisma and entirely negated with 7. During the fighting underneath the embassy, you can leave Rahim to do the heavy lifting and instead decide to loot the bodies. The cursed scythe is unique in that it is one of the few items in the game that provides a negative effect. This scythe also has one of the highest damage ranges in the game, boasting a base damage of 2-40.

  15. Black Orb: This orb of mysterious origin can be taken off the priestess's body after charging into the burning church after fighting the Abbess of Rook in Port Eldritch. The fire inside will damage you over time, and the priestess can only be carried out and saved with 3 resilience or higher, 4 to reduce damage dealt to you. Saving her is also the 15th objective for the Savior achievement. This handy orb will take an offhand slot and provide +1 to perception.

  16. Eye of Red Stone: This can be obtained by agreeing to the Red Fae’s deal within the ruby mine. For more info on how to access the Ruby Mine, please reference The Smuggler achievement. To the best of my knowledge, this has no use outside of burying it in Wotan’s head.

  17. Crown of Lothar: Both this and the red war axe are contained within the box with a spherical lock in the Blood Ziqqurat. Readers of this guide may know that this chest requires the volcanic sphere from the Ocean Shrine at the beginning of the game. This crown resides on the head slot and provides +2 to charisma and +1 to resilience. It also gives 5 armor for 8 encumbrance.

  18. Red War Axe: This one-handed axe can also be found within the box with a spherical lock. It provides a +10% increase to speed.

  19. Amulet of Lothar: This amulet can be found in the pit underneath the Blood Ziqqurat, requiring two ropes and a torch. It is an ornament that provides +1 Strength and +3 Protection.

Apex Predator

Kill the most dangerous warriors in the game.

10 Unique Bosses

  1. Foreign Commander: The Foreign commander can be found outside the Ocean Shrine after it's destroyed, triggered by you either grabbing the volcanic sphere or saving Keeper Navon. Note that you cannot keep Keeper Navon alive if you decide to fight the foreign commander, as he always dies. You can confront the commander by heading north and coming across the catapult. He can be fought a variety of ways, sometimes with troops, sometimes without. All fights are possible, although if you fight him by yourself, you can save the wounded soldier, which is the 6th objective for Savior.

  2. Trustan: Trustan can be difficult for inexperienced players, with him being one of the largest skill checks within the early game. Trustan is generally recommended to be tackled by new players at the very end of Act 1, right before leaving for the town of Sickle. Trustan should be dealt with by either bulking up on armor with a strength build, praying for evasion on an agility build, or blocking with a shield build. The main component here is weapons, with several early game weapons being on the Treasure Hunter list, such as the Talonbark spear, Jagged Flint Sickle, and Iron Khanjar.

  3. Lorne: Lorne is a fairly easy fight for those who are prepared but he can actually be rather difficult to find without the proper setup. Lorne cannot be fought if you killed him inside your house in Riverfront during BC. After you are then brought into the present day, he can be found hidden within cornerstone keep. Lorne can be defeated easily with a good weapon such as the Talonbark spear or any others mentioned early on the Treasure Hunter list. Lorne also drops the Punch Dagger, a very handy dagger for early game fights.

  4. Mercenaries: This encounter can also be difficult to find as it requires hiring and consequently shortchanging the Mercenaries. This fight is fairly difficult, and I would recommend putting this off until after returning from Port Eldritch. Players should also keep in mind that once you shortchange and kill the Mercenaries they will no longer be able to protect the merchant, meaning his upgraded goods are a one-time use and should be made to count. The toughest part of fighting the Mercenaries is both the fact that you'll be fighting all three of them at once and that they use both parry and glide. Parry can be subverted through liberal use of glide, so I would recommend either dual-wielding a damaging weapon and a weapon with glide, such as the ironback sword that can be bought in Port Eldritch.

  5. Vulture Queen: I would recommend referencing the pinned comment within Redtide-help on tips on how to defeat her.

  6. Lone Guardsman: The Lone Guardsman can be fought if you decide to hear the vulture queen out instead of killing her. The Lone Guardsman can be rather tough to fight due to his high protection, but this can be worked around with puncture. Speed-affecting moves such as hamstring, trip, or sweep are also quite helpful.

  7. Red Fae: The Red Fae can be found within the ruby caves. (for reference on how to access those, please see the Smuggler achievement.) The Red Fae can be tough for beginners as she uses bleed and stab frequently. Bleed can be countered with sanguine draught. She is immune to both disorient and bleed.

  8. Josef Braun: Josef can be tough to deal with as he fights alongside a beefy cartel torturer that can deal some heavy damage. Josef heavily uses glide and parry while his counterpart employs brute force and bleed. Having a weapon with glide is recommended.

  9. Crime Lord: The Crime Lord can be encountered twice during the game. The first is within the town of Sickle, where she kidnaps you, and the second is at the compound after returning from Port Eldritch. She can be fought both times but can only be successfully killed the second time, at the compound. For details on how to kill her on the second encounter, reference Lerajie’s superb crime lord guide in Redtide-talk.

  10. Bahemot: Bahemot can be difficult to encounter as he is hidden beneath the Blood Ziqqurat. He can be found by traveling down into the void in the moon passage. This requires 2 ropes and a torch and will lead you to the demon entombed underneath alongside some other valuables such as the Amulet of Lothar, the final objective in the Treasure Hunter achievement. This demon can be quite troublesome to fight as he is quite tanky, deals a lot of damage and inflicts bleed. A shield build is highly recommended for this fight, as well as a weapon that uses bleed such as the butcher knife. The Knife can be found within the vulture queen’s cave, although there are other substitute weapons that have bleed. Sanguine draught can also be applied to make you immune to bleed.

Seeker

Complete the first, second and third act.

This is impossible to miss.

Negotiator

Solve problems without getting your hands dirty.

9 unique encounters.

  1. Persuade Trustan Hollowgaze to leave the Woodland Outpost. This can be accomplished by telling Trustan that you are a fellow member of the militia, which will calm him down. From there you can persuade him to pursue a variety of different avenues if you have 2 charisma, including recruiting him for your journey to Sickle, which is an objective in the Fellow Traveler achievement.

  2. Persuade the thug to stop harassing the civilians in the city ruins. This can be done by talking to the thug at the burned-down Ocean Shrine. Using 2 charisma, you can de-escalate the situation and convince him to leave. If you saved the Keeper within the Ocean Shrine within BC, he will now appear and give you his staff, which provides +1 to charisma when equipped.

  3. Persuade the bandits in the cemetery to leave you alone. This encounter occurs when heading down from the shrine at the River Shrine. Ambushed by bandits on the way down, you can persuade them to leave you alone by having 2 charisma and mentioning that you served in the militia.

  4. Persuade the nomads to spare the life of Lin the outcast. This can be accomplished with 2 charisma and some smooth talking. Note this will lock you out of getting it on with Lin, as she requires you to kill them to bed her.

  5. Stop the highway robbery without anybody getting hurt. This encounter occurs when leaving the River Shrine after talking with Lin and retrieving your brother’s second diary entry. There you can choose to intervene with a merchant getting robbed by highway bandits. This situation can be dealt with by having 3 charisma and convincing the bandits that there is a better alternative, via joining the militia.

  6. Persuade Morkan the Barkeep to give you the satchel. This objective is within the town of Sickle, when speaking to the barkeep who has all of Alek’s stuff. Alek left quite the bar tab behind, and Morkan wants you to pay. Paying will not actually complete this objective, nor will threats. The only way to accomplish this is by having 3 charisma and mentioning how the militia will rise to its former glory again.

  7. Recruit the mercenary and let him fight for you at the embassy. Recruiting the mercenary is a fairly simple matter, although he can be tricky to find. Rahim only appears after encountering Josef Braun and learning of why your sister was kidnapped. He will then appear at the Gates of Lothar. He requires payment for his services, but this can be reduced with 3 charisma and entirely removed with 7. You then have to let him fight your battles underneath the Maleqite Embassy. This also allows you to pick up several unique items that are only accessible by using Rahim.

  8. Pacify and summon the Demon at the right time. This is actually two different objectives that can be folded into one. Pacifying the demon can be accomplished by finding him beneath the Blood Ziqqurat, by traveling down into the void in the moon passage. This requires 2 ropes and a torch and will lead you to the demon entombed underneath. Once encountering him, you then have to have 5 charisma and either 3 different meat items or a dragon egg. The dragon egg can be discovered by avoiding the tower on the way to the Blood Ziqqurat and instead searching the dragon mound. The other items are the saltwater bass sold by the fisher and the dog steak sold by the dog catcher in Port Eldritch, with the dried meat being accessible in several locations. This will pacify him, but convincing him to fight with you is another matter. You need a charisma of 8 to convince him to stand by you. He will then transport you to outside the final boss arena to meet up with your siblings. Once there, you can convince your brother not to go into the boss room, saving his life and completing the Family Ties achievement as well. Once inside the room itself, you can then summon the Demon to do battle with the Abbess of Rook, finishing off this achievement.

Doomsayer

A new cult is on the rise. They believe the world is ending. Some call them doomsayers and heretics. They call themselves the Tribe of No. Are you with them or against them? The choice is yours.

9 unique encounters:

  1. Deliver the letter to the Keeper of the River Shrine. This can be done by entering the poorhouse and talking to Polyphema the Wise. After asking for assistance, she will ask something of you in turn, to deliver a clay tablet to the Keeper Donn on top of the River Shrine.

  2. The initial objective is actually twofold, with the first being to deliver the letter and the second to convince the Keeper to give Konrad a proper burial. To successfully convince Keeper Donn to fulfill the request, you need to both have a charisma of three and have read the tablet before giving it to him.

  3. Allow the cultists to cross the northern border. This is fairly simple, as when you are standing guard at the northern border, you simply have to let the doomsayers through unmolested (no bribes either).

  4. Retrieve the stone tablet from the Keeper of the Forest Shrine. This objective is fairly difficult as it requires all previous cooperations with the tribe of No and for you to donate 50 gold to them to receive the quest. The gold cost can actually be subverted if you ask for work after joining the vultures, although it should be known that donating is the 4th objective for the Spirit of Generosity achievement. You will be sent to retrieve the stone tablet, and this can be done by either persuading the Forest Keeper to surrender the prophecy, requiring a charisma of 3 or higher, or taking it forcefully. Both are valid options, but taking it forcefully is frowned upon, will make the Forest Shrine immediately hostile, and give -10 militia rep.

  5. Remove the mark of allegiance. This can only be done by siding with the vulture queen and killing the lone guardsman. After doing enough of their work, they will allow you to remove your prior allegiance to the militia. Doing this rewards you a free level up, regardless of your current level and experience, so I would advise timing it well.

  6. Deliver the peace offering to the vulture queen. This can only be done if you have sided with the vultures and completed their questline. The vulture queen will accept, and all that is needed is to return to Polyphema.

  7. Protect the cultists at the academy: This can be done by saving the family in the street when first arriving at Port Eldritch. It should be noted that this locks you out of accessing the church and has no real rewards for saving them. Reloading after you have the objective completed is an option, is all I'm saying.

  8. Pray to Kah-Met in the Garden of Wisdom. This is fairly easy; you just have to return to the garden after encountering Josef and then join them in prayer.

  9. Fight with the cultists against the Ternati. This requires that after leaving the embassy, you side with the cultists in all of their fights (on the way to the academy, on the way to Artisan Row, and on the way to the Gates of Lothar).

The Final Chapter

There are many different ways to end your story. Unlock ten special endings to complete this achievement.

10 Unique Endings.

  1. Find out what happened to the river mob. This can be done by saving Cap in BC. On how to save Cap, please reference Lerajie’s excellent guide on BC, pinned in Redtide spoilers.

  2. Secure the future of the caravan. This can be done by hiring the Mercenaries and not recruiting Amanda to leave with the caravan. It should also be noted that you can’t short the mercenaries, or else the arrangement won’t work out.

  3. Find a way to make the King of Thieves pay for his crimes. This can be accomplished by saving Griselda within the town of Hush and setting her on the path of revenge when talking to her. For reference on how to save Griselda, check objective 10 for the Savior achievement.

  4. Break the vow to kill the prophet. This can be done by making a deal with the Red Fae (reference the Hand of Destiny achievement.) and not going through with it.

  5. Kill the Abbess of Rook. Most people will likely achieve this on their first run, as it is rather difficult to avoid. Rook can be found in the Blood Ziqqurat awaiting a final showdown.

  6. Bring your brother to justice. This can be achieved by maintaining either a neutral or good reputation with the militia (no vulture path) and returning to the outpost you woke up at for the beginning of act 1.

  7. Join the dark brigade. This can be done by escaping the Blood Ziqqurat with your brother alive and killing the Abbess of Rook. Your brother asks if you'd like to join the dark brigade; you merely need to accept and then travel to Port Eldritch.

  8. Return to your homeland. When choosing where to go, simply return to your homeland.

  9. Settle down in Ryke Valley. When choosing where to go, go to Ryke Valley.

  10. Escape from the highlands. When choosing where to go, go to Port Eldritch.

Conclusion

This is the end of the achievement guide… for now. I hope you found it beneficial in your trek towards the illustrious title of Apocryphon and the prestige that comes with it. I’m @TheMC so please ping me over any problems, missing links, or other annoying discrepancies. This is less extensive than I would have liked but with the limitations I've worked with I think this turned out pretty well. Thanks to everyone on the Discord and especially the devs Insats and Maskpo, They made a truly amazing series.
