Eldrum: Black Dust achievement guide

Base game only: This guide covers the 22 achievements in the base game. It doesn’t include the Mount Karnak DLC or its 18 achievements.

Spoiler warning: this guide reveals story events, choices and endings.

Introduction

I’ve seen many people ask about a guide for Black Dust, and with the final set of achievements being put in place, I’ve decided to create an achievement guide! The result will hopefully be a rather comprehensive list of achievements (and a few bonus sections…) for those looking to get a 100% completion rate. Readers should note that any words that are underlined are actually hyperlinks to their related achievement. Readers can also use the contents list for hyperlinks to all of the achievements for ease of access.

Disclaimer: It should be noted that this guide is rather spoiler heavy, and is not recommended for first time players! Go have some fun before you dive into achievement hunting, It’ll be more enjoyable. Know and be warned of the dark secrets below.

Credits

Insats and Maskpo. The amazing devs that worked on Black Dust and of course the Eldrum series as a whole. It’s an amazing series and they deserve serious credit for making such consistently great games. They have also never been shy about answering questions and providing insight into the world of Eldrum from a developer’s point of view, which was tremendously helpful for this guide.

Eaglebearer on Discord. His persistence has been rewarded, as he motivated me to stop being lazy and actually type this guide up. I genuinely appreciate your consistency. Without you, I doubt this guide would have been made in any timely manner.

Everyone on Discord. Eldrum has amassed a pretty amazing community and they were of major help in figuring out the finer workings of the game. They’re pretty awesome and they also deserve some serious credit.

Me! I am @TheMC on Discord and I choose to create this guide to assist both new and old players with achieving that coveted 100%! I have spent a disturbing amount of time playing Black Dust and exploring the truly astounding world of Eldrum. This game deserves a guide and rudimentary though it may be, I’ve attempted to catalog the achievements of Black Dust so players can fully experience the world of Eldrum. This link here will direct you to Discord for any followup questions you may have. discord.eldrum.com

Explorer

Visit every location in the game.

Explorer is a relatively straightforward achievement, with it requiring the player to visit and then exit every location in the game. This should hopefully be one of the last achievements you gain and so long as you follow this guide it shouldn’t be possible to miss. Please ping @TheMC if you have any trouble gaining this achievement after completing all the others.

Peacemaker

Life is rough in the deadlands, but violence is not always the answer.

  1. Make a deal with Alma the Gambler
This can be done when confronting Alma within Bone Lake. Alma can be negotiated with if the player has 2 charisma, getting a 50-50 split on her cash. Doing this will also allow the player to later meet Alma at the Molehouse, a must for any player looking for the coveted lockpick as it is required for several items within the Treasure Hunter achievement and can be quite helpful for dealing with Merchant Brock. Players should note that Alma will only meet with them if they have a negative cartel reputation.

  2. Resolve the dispute between the nomads and the extortionist
This conflict can be found at the Fallen Bridge, on the way out of the Sunken Hollows. You’ll encounter a cartel member blocking the way for two nomads. The player can intervene and negotiate between the two, giving the option to either side with the extortionist or the nomads with 2 charisma. Siding with the nomads also completes the first objective for the Friend of the Orox Achievement. A third option exists for a peaceful resolution for both parties with 3 charisma. This will also gain you rep with either the faction you sided with or both factions if a resolution was found. It should be noted that fighting either side of the argument will fail this achievement.

  3. Defend Kaspar against the charges from the Orox Tribe
This can be done by simply talking to the nomads when approaching the Steppe Cliff. With 2 charisma you can ask to stand trial for Kaspar. This will give serious Orox rep boosts and is the only way to complete the Friend of the Orox Achievement. After waiting for the law to arrive, you can then stand on Kaspar’s behalf to defend him. Choosing to tell them that Kaspar has learned his lesson in blood will gain even more rep with them and allow him to walk free. Many of the other options will not gain rep but will still free Kaspar. Choosing to insult them and their traditions will cause a sharp loss in rep and will trigger a nigh-impossible fight with Negusa if pushed. (Note: any fellow battle junkies should check this fight out, it's one of the toughest fights in the game.)

  4. Persuade Zanna to spend more time with her mother
This is related to the Quest “Married To The Mob”. This can be started by talking with the seamstress in the Marketplace. She’ll ask for the player’s help in finding her daughter and persuading her to leave the Five-Crux mob. Zanna can be found in Low River, with her boyfriend and his minions. Here the player can choose to either fight the mob and forcefully take Zanna to her mother (failing the achievement) or persuade her to at least return and help her mom with her job with 3 charisma. Not only does this finish this objective, but it also discounts the Exotic perfume that the seamstress sells to half its price, which is vital for any players hunting the Enhancer Achievement.

  5. Meet with King Dhun of Zajun
Get him to sign the peace treaty. King Dhun can be found in the “Harrow Keep” quest, to the south of the Caravansary. When traveling there, players will encounter a druid that will tell them that when the king asks a question, the player should answer the rook. This has little bearing on this achievement but will affect future interactions with the druid and provide a different ending credit for the Zajun. It should be noted that not heeding the druid’s word will not later interfere with the third objective in the Redeemer achievement. Once you have arrived in front of the castle you will be stopped by soldiers of the king. The player will need a total of 5 charisma to persuade the king to sign the contract after confronting him directly, leading to the Outpost being spared from raiding. This is also required for the 2nd objective in the Lover achievement and the 5th objective in the Redeemer achievement, as both require the Outpost to be intact, along with the 11th objective in Treasure Hunter, as the mayor awards you the ring.

  6. Mediate between Catualda and Laonika
This objective relates to the Quest “The Prodigal Daughter” that can be found in Pelizar, after opening an ominous door with Kaspar. When traversing the warped hellscape of the recently remodeled Sunken Hollows, players can come across the Molehouse Ruins. Inside are two people arguing over the last bottle of palm wine, who can be persuaded to calm down for 5 charisma, recruiting them for the Agitator Achievement. Regardless, behind them, you can find Catualda in the backroom. If the player had interacted with Catualda in the past, she will ask them to please look for her daughter who has run away. She can be found in the Sinkhole nearby, being pestered by scarabs. After saving her she can be convinced to return to talk with her mother, under certain conditions. If the player leveraged their position as a cartel underling when attempting to get a key for Kaspar’s room at the beginning of the game, Laonika will actually flee from the player when found. If the player manages to successfully coax Laonika to return to the Molehouse, the player can later find her there arguing with her mother. The player can either defuse the situation with 5 charisma or if the player has saved Kaspar, let him mediate in your stead. If both of these fail, the player can forcefully intervene with a strength check of 4. Either way, once the two are calmed down, the quest and objective are completed.

  7. Convince the Mayor to give you the key
This can be found in the Dark Arena within Pelizar. Confronting the mayor for the key will trigger several waves of enemies that can be fought either solo or with the help of people you’ve recruited within Pelizar, which is key for the Agitator achievement. After this, the mayor can be found cowering in the back of the Arena, arguing with Bel Marudek. Capitalizing on this weakness, the player can persuade the mayor to give them the key for a whopping 10 charisma, one of the largest checks in the game.

Friend of the Orox

Gain favor with the nomads from the tribe of Orox.

  1. Side with the nomads against the extortionist
This objective can be found underneath the Fallen Bridge when leaving the Sunken Hollows. When encountering the cartel enforcer stopping the nomads, the player must side with the nomads. Whether done through peaceful or violent means, after dealing with the cartel you will gain Orox rep and complete this objective. It should be noted that coming to a peaceful resolution does not actually count for this objective, denying achievement hunters that sweet extra xp.

  2. Respect the sanctity of their burial places
This can be accomplished by simply not raiding either of the tombs when prompted by Kaspar. It is recommended for any players that are pursuing the rest of this achievement, that they choose to negotiate at the first tomb, not only allowing players to respect the sanctity of the tombs but also setting up the next two objectives of the achievement. While Kaspar does force the player to travel to the second tomb, The player has the final say on whether you raid the tomb or not.

  3. Free the slaves from captivity
This is related to the Quest “Mob Slavers” that can be acquired from the Leatherworker if the player has a “good” reputation with the Orox (5 or more). Once the player has received the quest, they should head to Stairway within the underground caves. There they’ll encounter several Five-Crux thugs. Players can choose to leverage their cartel rep or to fight the slavers. Regardless of your choice, returning and finishing the quest will accomplish this achievement, as well as reward you with some gold.

  4. Help Negusa in the Valley of Akim
This objective is related to the quest “The Source”. The quest can be obtained shortly after returning from Harrow Keep, on the way to Fallen Bridge. Players will be flagged down by a messenger of the Orox if they have a “Good” reputation with the tribe. The player will receive a bouquet of Wax Kamas flowers and a letter written by Negusa, inviting the player to journey to the Scar Trail within the Valley of Akim. Once there, she’ll assign you the task of tracking down several totems within the area and destroying them. Once done, the player returns to the Scar Trail to witness a miracle, receive their reward, and a new task. If the player asks Negusa for a reward the player will receive the Orox amulet, which is an ornament that grants +1 resilience. Negusa will then send the player to go fight the source of the corruption, underneath the statue of Akim. Once the player has arrived, they will be surrounded by the Apostles of Woe and their Matriarch. Afterward, the player can grab the head of Akim and return to Negusa, completing the quest.

Pit Fighter

Win ten fights in the Pit.

This achievement is relatively straightforward, requiring the player to beat the Pit, an important prerequisite for gaining a class and achieving the Jackal & Dreadnought Achievement. The Pit should generally be beaten before leaving for the second tomb with Kaspar. A good tip for beating the Pit is to invest at least a point into strength for both a weapon and armor, providing a solid balance for combat. Players should also note that every weapon taken from a tier of the Pit is effective against the next tier of the Pit. The Pit can only be beaten after returning from the first tomb, as several fights don’t become available until after the player saves Kaspar.

Treasure Hunter

Leave no stone unturned.

  1. Linothorax
This tunic can be purchased from the Seamstress within the Market for some gold, granting the player +3% to melee evasion. It’s quite worthwhile for any Jackals looking to gain evasion for the early game as it is fairly cheap.

  2. Mandelion Coat
This stylish coat can also be purchased off the seamstress, albeit in a roundabout manner. If the player prompts the seamstress for any other options she will present the Red Stola, a beautiful red dress that costs the player 100 gold and grants them +1 Charisma when worn. If the player instead asks for something for men, she will present the Mandelion Coat for the same price with equivalent stats. This is a purely aesthetic choice for the player, although the Mandelion Coat must be grabbed for this achievement.

  3. Laced Moccasins
These boots are located on the topmost floor of the Molehouse, housed within a locked chest only accessible after returning from the first tomb. This chest can only be unlocked with the lockpick, gained from Alma if the player lets her go. More info about the lockpick is available in the Peacemaker achievement above. The Laced Moccasins grant a bonus of +5% speed and a +10% ranged evasion bonus, which is quite handy for any Jackals.

  4. Jade Auroch Ring
This ring can be found within the first tomb players enter if they choose to kill the nomads instead of making peace. Once the player has freed Kaspar, he will then guide them to the entrance of the tomb, where the player can then destroy the door with a pickaxe. Once inside, the player will encounter a reliquary that houses the ring, a bracelet, and the ashes of its previous owner. This ring is an accessory and grants the player +1 Charisma.

  5. Defender
The Defender can be acquired underneath the water of the Bone Lake after they reach level 9. It is a one-handed weapon that grants +1 Strength and an extra +5% block chance, perfect for shield Dreadnoughts.

  6. Studded Leather Sash
This can be picked up from the leatherworker, with a few conditions. Players will have needed to make peace with the Orox at the first tomb and then can return to buy this from the leatherworker. When prompted for a unique item, she presents the leather sash for 50 gold but can be haggled down to free with 2 charisma. The Sash is an accessory providing armor and +1 Resilience, handy for any Dreadnoughts or players attempting to reach the harpy in the Apex Predator achievement. More information on negotiating with the Orox can be found in the Friend of the Orox achievement.

  7. Black Trident
The trident can be found in the possession of Brock, who players will encounter through the “Red Serpent Caravan” quest. Brock can be found when pursuing Leon’s last location after talking to Nat at the Caravansary. Players can then talk to the Caravan master to be directed to Brock’s abode within High River. Once there, the player can enter his house and save Leon from being butchered. When the player attempts to leave they will then be locked in a room with Leon by Brock. The player now has three things they can do. They can either unlock the gate with the lockpick, break it with a strength check of 4, or fight Leon. Brock’s trident can only be obtained by disabling the gate but Leon does drop a fairly useful weapon for those who aren't afraid to reload for a darker outcome. Regardless, once the gate is dealt with the player will then fight Brock. (for help beating Brock, please reference the Apex Predator achievement.) When defeated, the player then needs to apply theriac to interact with him and steal his possessions. The player can choose to grab either cash or Brock's black trident. The trident itself has a +25% boost to health and has both puncture and jab, making it a worthwhile mid-game weapon. As a bonus, if the player returns Leon alive they receive a payment of 250 gold. This is downgraded to 100 if Leon is killed and the blame is pinned on Brock.

  8. Drake Knife
This knife can only be obtained through interacting with the Courtesan after returning from Harrow Keep. If the player has a reputation of “Good”, then the Courtesan will invite you to deal with a problem. Once prompted the player has to choose to kill him, with the Courtesan providing the knife. Players interested in the Lover achievement now have the option to bed her for 4 Charisma.

  9. Blue Steel Dagger
This can be stolen out of the Temple within the Sunken Hollows. It requires the player to pass a stat check of 6 agility. This one-handed dagger gives +10% speed and has the Stab and Cut skills. An excellent mid to late game weapon.

  10. Dark Bow
This bow can be taken off the Manhunter within the blind alley. This bow provides a +10% Crit Chance and +10% Ranged Hit Chance.

  11. Black Signet Ring
This ring can be acquired from the “Harrow Keep” quest by negotiating with the king of the Zajun. Players require 5 charisma to pull this feat off. Afterward, the player must simply return to the mayor and report a successful journey, receiving the ring, a simple accessory that grants +1 Charisma. This also completes objective 5 in the Peacemaker achievement.

  12. Dread Aegis
The Dread Aegis shield can only be acquired from the topmost section of the arena equipment for the Dreadnoughts. This requires the player to beat and then spare every boss within the arena, up to the 10th to maximize rep. After beating the 10th tier boss the player can claim this handy shield that has the unique effect of Thorns. Thorns reflect 20% of damage back towards the attacker. For more information on how to deal with the arena bosses, please reference the Arena guide.

  13. Heart of Stone
This heart of intriguing origin can only be found in one place. Within the Woeful Fane’s pool room, lies a hidden trapdoor. To open it, players need to traverse all the way to the top of the tower until they enter the Alchemist of Woe’s lab near the top of the tower. After besting the alchemist, players can uncover a lever that requires a strength of 7 to open (The Defender can be quite handy for this). After the player pulls it, the trapdoor shall open, giving players an entryway into the depths of the towers. Once down there, players will encounter a legendary white fae named Volospa who needs to be slain to retrieve her heart. This grotesque accessory grants +2 Strength.

  14. Hammer of Nemesis
This iconic Maul requires multiple steps to reach its final upgrade. This starts as the humble stone maul, which can be purchased from the scavenger within the market for 50 gold (40 gold with 2 charisma). The scavenger then mentions that it can be upgraded with a rare wood called White Holly. This can only be obtained within the smithy of the Woeful Fane. Once gained, players simply return to the scavenger, who requests 50 more gold for an upgrade. Afterward, the player will obtain the Hammer of Nemesis. This 2-handed maul boasts no unique modifiers other than having one of the highest damage ranges in the game, from 20-30 damage baseline, along with the Slam and Stun skills. This is a Dreadnought’s wet dream for sheer damage.

  15. Full Plate Mail
This handy full-body armor can only be retrieved through the time honored tradition of grave robbing. Once players have entered the Woeful Fane, they may encounter a tomb to the south of the Caravansary, along the path to Harrow Keep. This sarcophagus can be dug up with a shovel grabbed from Kaspar's job site and opened with a strength check of 8. (Both the Defender and Heart of Stone are useful to have for this check.) Inside lies a full body of Plate Mail, boasting a whopping 20 armor in exchange for occupying the body, hands, and feet slots. Players can also find a jewel box that holds some valuable gems. This plate armor is especially handy for protection reliant Dreadnoughts but is useful regardless of class.

  16. Raven Medallion
This Medallion can be found within Kaspar’s tent after players have entered the Woeful Fane. This is a 50/50 drop with the Raven Shroud, so ensure you have a save as a backup. The Raven Medallion has no effects.

  17. Gold Medallion
Reference the Crowd Pleaser achievement. The Golden Medallion is a simple accessory that grants +1 Perception.

  18. Black Iron Greataxe
This axe can be obtained if the player chooses to Cure Kaspar of his curse before opening the Black Door and gives him an elixir when encountered within Pelizar. Afterwards, he can be found in the Molehouse Ruins, where he will provide the player several weapons and trinkets, along with this axe. The axe has no unique modifiers but has a baseline damage range of 12-20 and the Sever, Rend, and Split skills.

  19. Blessed Amulet of Ebiddon
This amulet can be initially found within the market, on the corpse of a fallen shieldmaiden. This amulet is mundane but is granted a blessing after the player finds and cures the priest within the Lost Temple with an elixir and the player has tracked down the missing swordmaiden within the depths of the temple.

  20. Mask of Nierva
The Mask of Nierva can be found within Pelizar, in the possession of the Jackal druid. She can only be encountered if the player has the Jackal class and they visit the training hall within the arena after the Black Door has been opened. Afterward, players will find her roaming the streets between the Market and High River. Slaying her will grant you the mask, a headpiece that grants an extra +1 AP per turn, with the slight penalty of -1 perception.

  21. Runic Spear
This can be taken off the corpse of the second white fae in the game, the fearsome Vanadis who dwells within the Buried Palace in Pelizar. Players can only enter the Buried Palace through the use of Theriac, a useful medicine that can be crafted through the Apothecary. This 1 handed spear holds a 9-20 baseline damage range and has the Jab, Thrust, and Puncture skills.

  22. Black Talon Gauntlet
This can only be acquired through very specific means within Pelizar. Details about this can be found in objective 2 of The Other Side achievement. The black Talon Gauntlet is an off-handed weapon that provides +2 Perception and +5 Protection.

Jackal & Dreadnought

Jackal: Join the Jackals.

Dreadnought: Join the Dreadnoughts.

This achievement is two combined for ease of access. These achievements require the player to beat the Pit and receive a pamphlet from the two different factions of the Arena. Once the player arrives at the Arena they have a choice to either become a Dreadnought or a Jackal. Choosing to become a Dreadnought unlocks the Dreadnought achievement and vice versa. Despite Jackal being the superior class, players are required to have played both classes to achieve both achievements. It is recommended that players grab a class before leaving for the second tomb with Kaspar, as it can be quite difficult without one. For those who need help completing the Pit, please reference the Pit Fighter achievement above.

Gladiator

Make a living as a professional gladiator.

This is more or less a continuation of the last achievement and is pretty easy. After choosing your preferred class the player will be escorted into the hall of their respective class. Once there, they will be prompted to sign a contract that officiates them being that class, and that their faction will receive a small cut of winnings, etc. The player is recommended to have at least 2 charisma for this, as the contract can also be negotiated up, granting you 50% more gold for boss winnings, which quickly adds up. Regardless, once signed the player is prompted to enter the Arena and have their first fight with a proper gladiator. Once done, the player will return to the hall of their class, receive payment, and complete this achievement.

Hunter

Kill wild animals. Go to the kitchen. Throw some meat on the grill.

This achievement is pretty easy to do. Whenever the player kills any animal(s), they will be prompted to harvest them for meat. Once done the player can return to the Molehouse and cook this up, providing cheap and reliable healing for most of the game. This achievement requires the player to cook up meat 10 times, which is achievable by the time you return from the first tomb if the player chooses to fight the wild Jackals in the desert.

Forager

Find plants and mushrooms. Bring them to the Apothecary. Give him one of each.

General Notes: Plants and mushrooms can be foraged from a variety of places, with many reappearing after significant plot points, such as completing any main story quest. Most plants and mushrooms are available in fairly wide areas while a certain few are very rare and can only be achieved through specific means. This guide will also include their xp, what medicine they contribute to, and the quantity required to make it, usually in conjunction with other flora. These plants only give xp and create medicine when given to the Apothecary within the Dark Bend.

  1. Akacian Fern
This Fern can be harvested on the way to the Outpost, within the south desert. They give +4 xp per fern and when combined in a 1:1:1 ratio with Saguaro Flowers and Dasylirion, can create Strong Balsam.

  2. Blue Night Cap
This mushroom is generally found in underground areas and gives +1 xp per mushroom. Requires a 4:2 ratio with Ribflower to create Sleep Balm.

  3. Candlewood
This flower can be harvested within the south desert, first found on the way to Harrow Keep. They give 3 xp per flower and require a ratio of 1:1:1 with Cinderbract and Wax Kamas to make an antidote.

  4. Cinderbract
This herb can be harvested anywhere within the desert and gives +3 xp per herb. It is used in a 1:1:1 ratio with Candlewood and Wax Kamas to create an antidote.

  5. Dasylirion
This flower can be harvested from the southern desert and gives +3 xp per plant. They can be combined in a 1:1:1 Ratio with Saguaro Flowers and Akacian Ferns to create Strong Balsam.

  6. Drakeflower
This dragon-themed flower can only be found in one place, that being the house of the couple from the Crowd Pleaser Achievement. The Drakeflower provides 8 xp per plant and originates from Sandrest, a place only ever mentioned once within the game. This can now be used in a 3:1 ratio with a Moon Orchid to make Anamnesis.

  7. Moon Orchid
This flower can be found in three total locations, One is the couple house from the Crowd Pleaser achievement. Another is found in the druid tent, within the Outpost west of the Sunken Hollows. The last can be discovered in the DLC, within a small room above the church of Meym, in the Lost City of Karnak. It should be noted that the first requires a perception check of 4 and the second is a luck based pull when searching the tent. This lovely flower gives 20 xp when given to the Apothecary and can now be used in a 1:3 ratio with Drakeflowers to concoct Anamnesis.

  8. Night Stalk
This reed can be found alongside underground rivers. It gives +1 xp per reed and can be combined in a 3:3 Ratio with Palefern Leaf to create Balsam.

  9. Palefern Leaf
This leaf can be harvested from bushes found within underground caves. It gives +1 xp per leaf and can be combined with Night Stalk in a 3:3 Ratio to create Balsam.

  10. Plague Thorn
This thorny plant can be harvested from hard to reach places within the underground caverns. It gives +2 xp per vine and every two given creates a theriac.

  11. Ribflower
This aquatic flower can be harvested from underground lakes and rivers. It gives +2 xp per plant and can create a Sleep Balm, if combined in a 2:4 ratio with Blue Night Cap.

  12. Saguaro Flower
This flower can be harvested from the south desert, first found on the way to Harrow Keep. It gives +3 xp per flower and they can be combined in a 1:1:1 Ratio with Dasylirion and Akacian Ferns to create Strong Balsam.

  13. Wax Kamas
This flower can be harvested from places of death and decay, most notably the tombs of the Orox, or gifted to you from them when taking on “the source” quest. These flowers give +6 xp per and are made with a 1:1:1 ratio with Cinderbract and Candlewood to create an antidote.

Bonus: All uses for Theriac and the Antidote

Antidote: The Antidote can be used in several locations, such as being fed to Kaspar to remove his hex (Redeemer objective), curing the poison when fighting the maneater for the Apex Predator achievement, and rescuing someone for the fourth objective in the Redeemer achievement.

Theriac: Theriac can be used in several key locations such as retrieving Brock’s trident for the Treasure Hunter achievement, entering the Woeful Fane damageless, removing the barrier around the Woeful Fane, and entering the Black Door after it’s been open, a key step for fighting Vanadis in the Apex Predator achievement and starting the quest for The Other Side achievement. It can also be used to nullify Black Dust when entering Brock’s domain in the Sunken Hollows, after being sent to take his heart by Bel Marudek for The Other Side achievement or when unsealing the Guardian’s chamber.

Connoisseur

Eat all kinds of different food.

Note: Due to the fact that most of these food items are all generally available at the same time, they have been grouped together for ease of reference. It should be noted that these need to be eaten by the player to count, Merely obtaining the item does not work.

  • Auroch Steak, Dates, Figs, Walnut Cake: These 4 food items can all be obtained from three possible routes, which offer all of the above. The first opportunity is the player’s initial meeting with the mayor, in which he offers the player all of these options. The second lies within the Crowd Pleaser achievement, which is required for 100%. Finally, They can all be obtained in order through the Dreadnought portion of the arena, earning them after killing bosses and claiming your reward from Nathanael. Any of these three options will provide the player with these four food items, albeit some with a small amount of save scumming.

  • Raw, Dried, and Grilled Meat: These foods are also fairly easy to eat as players can achieve this as early as their first entry into the Molehouse. Players who fought the Bats and Olms within the underground caves have the option to gut these animals for raw meat. Once the player has arrived at the Molehouse, they can simply head up to the second floor and cook up some meat. When examining the kitchen the player can also find a piece of Dried meat, tidying this up nicely. Now the player has to eat all of them (including the raw meat) and the achievement is yours.

Alcoholic

Drink a lot of booze to kill the pain.

This achievement is more or less in the name. The player is required to consume 20 alcoholic beverages in one playthrough to acquire this achievement. Most will likely gain this from their first playthrough but if any players are hard up for alcoholic beverages, both the Molehouse and Caravansary sell them for fairly reasonable prices.

Enhancer

There are five different special items that will increase your attributes. Collect them all.

  1. Blackfeather Tonic
This can be gained during the final portion of the game from the Mystic when going to confront the Mayor. She will stop the player before entering the Arena and will grant them the tonic if they killed Bey when he confronted them earlier in Pelizar. This blood tonic will grant the player a permanent +1 Resilience.

  2. Exotic Perfume
This can be bought from the Seamstress within the Market for 500 gold. For players looking for a deal, the price she sells it at will be halved if the player completes the quest “Married To The Mob” nonviolently. Doing so will also satisfy one of the objectives for the Peacemaker achievement. This perfume will grant the player a permanent +1 Charisma.

  3. Holy Essence
This can be pilfered from the Temple within the Sunken Hollows with a whopping 8 agility. Once you ingest this otherworldly essence, The player will gain +1 Agility.

  4. Katholikon
This humble strength booster can just be bought from the Scavenger within the Market of the Sunken Hollows. It can be purchased off him for an astounding 500 gold, with no discounts in sight. Imbibing this little bottle of alchemical expertise will grant the player a permanent +1 Strength.

  5. Sacred Elixir
This elixir can be bought off the Caravan Master for 500 gold after completing the quest “Red Serpent Caravans”. With no special offers on the table, players will gain a permanent +1 Perception after paying full price.

Champion

Win all the big fights in the tournament.

This requires the player to beat all Bosses within the Arena. The opening gladiator, the first three class-specific bosses, Avon Lorca, and the Colossus. The Arena guide goes into this with more depth, including general strategies for both classes.

Apex Predator

Defeat the most powerful enemies in the game.

Disclaimer: I cannot account for all methods of fighting enemies or any surefire methods to kill the opponent. The strategies mentioned below were merely ones that I either found helpful or were commonly used by players on Eldrum’s Discord. Please ping @TheMC for any complaints or suggestions. All of these suggestions are reliant on the player having a Class, as bosses become significantly more manageable with the perks provided. All bosses will be split into two categories, one for Jackals, and the other for Dreadnoughts.

Merchant Brock

Merchant Brock can be found by pursuing the “Red Serpent Caravan” quest, which the player can access after they hit level 6. After talking with Nat, the player can head outside the Caravansary and talk with the merchant to learn Leon’s last known location. Players can then head down to High River and approach Brock’s door. After an exploration of Brock’s home, the player can find and save Leon. Heading upstairs, the player will be locked in a room with Leon, with Brock forcing you to fight each other. Fighting Leon will severely drop your chances of fighting merchant Brock, as his later appearance is a lot harder to find and deal with (and I don’t want to write a combat guide for it), so players are recommended to have obtained either the Lockpick or have a Strength of 4 to break through the gate Brock hides behind.

Recommended level: 8
Recommended stats: Strength(Dreadnought), Agility (Jackals).

  • Jackal: Jackals should lean into evasion with high agility, the sand toss skill, and the Fleet Footed Trait. Players should attempt to speed stall Brock and wear him down with hamstring and sweep.

  • Dreadnought: Dreadnoughts are recommended to bring a shield or a two-handed weapon, as Brock has the Skewer skill, A Jackal class skill that bypasses armor. Players are recommended to use the grapple skill. The Relentless or Resolute traits are also recommended, as they will help the player gain advantage or deal more damage.

Negusa

Negusa can be approached at two possible points, although this guide will only cover the easier of the two. She can first be approached when standing trial before the nomads at the tomb of Khaleb. If the player attempts to negotiate but instead aggravates the situation, they’ll be forced to fight Negusa and two other nomads before the player can obtain a class. While it is possible to kill her this way, it is significantly tougher. This guide will instead focus on the much easier encounter, after escaping the tomb of Akim. If the player stays by her side throughout the trek and chooses to save her when she is in distress, she will confront the player about their graverobbing at the Wind Cave. Players must then double down on their graverobbing and fight Negusa.

Recommended level: 7
Recommended stats: Strength(Both Classes)

  • Jackal: Protection is a must, as most Jackals will not have a defined enough agility to make evasion, by itself, worthwhile. Players are recommended to prevent Negusa from maintaining distance. Sweep and stab are great for damage. A sanguine draught can also be used to nullify her bleeding effect.

  • Dreadnought: Players are recommended to have invested in either protection or a shield, as shields are quite effective against ranged attacks. Two-handed weapons are excellent for damage. A sanguine draught can also be used to nullify her bleeding effect.

Manhunter

The Manhunter can be encountered within the depths of Blind Alley, after pursuing a trail of blood the player can find when exploring. Players are recommended to have crafted an antidote, as, without one, the journey will become significantly tougher. After imbibing the miraculous product of Alchemy once the player is shot, they can proceed somewhat smoothly into the darkness. Players must then approach the dark beast that appears and weather its master’s attacks from above with either 3 agility or a shield. Pursuing the duo, the player is then prompted to proceed through either the darkness or light. Stepping into the light will face you with a similar challenge of evading or blocking an arrow. Approaching by darkness will require a perception check of 3, otherwise, the player will set off a bear trap, losing a sizable chunk of health.

Recommended level: 12
Recommended stats: Strength (Both Classes)

  • Jackal: Jackals are recommended to invest in protection, as evasion tends to fare poorly against ranged attacks. The Manhunter can apply the acid effect, so players are recommended to focus heavily on damage and kill her quickly. Stab and sweep are excellent for this.

  • Dreadnought: Dreadnoughts should invest in either a shield or protection, depending on their build, as shields are excellent at dealing with ranged attacks. Players will still need to kill her fast due to the acid effect, so swapping to a two-handed weapon for damage is recommended.

Harpy

The Harpy can be found within the desert south of the Sunken Hollows, encountered on the returning journey from Harrow Keep. Players will encounter a raging sandstorm, which requires a resilience check of 3 to encounter the Harpy within. Players are recommended to side with the Orox for the Studded Leather Sash, as it grants the player a free point in Resilience, a must have for both Dreadnoughts pursuing a shield build or Jackals attempting to pass the stat check to access the boss.

Recommended level: 9
Recommended stats: Perception (Both Classes)

  • Jackal: Jackals should lean heavily into protection, as evasion does not fare well with ranged attacks. Due to the Flying status effect the harpy boasts, and her natural speed, most players will struggle to hit her or kill her speed. Players are recommended to fall back on skills such as Strike or Trick Shot for reliable damage. Traits such as Sly and Upper Hand are useful here. Players should also obtain the mystic dagger, sold by the caravan master after reaching level 5, as it will increase hit chance and has the strike skill. The Flying effect can be removed through the Sweep skill, but this is not recommended for players without a high perception.

  • Dreadnought: Dreadnoughts should focus on protection and shield builds, as they are useful against ranged enemies. Due to the Harpy’s Flying status effect, she can be exceptionally hard to hit without a high perception. Players are recommended to use skills like strike and cleave when possible as they reduce the chance of evasion. The mystic dagger can also be useful, as it boosts melee hit chance, and it also boasts strike. It can be acquired from the merchant outside the Caravansary after reaching level 5. The Flying effect can be removed through the grapple throw skill, but this isn't recommended for players without a high perception.

Alchemist of Woe

The Alchemist of Woe is a boss that is impossible for players to miss. Players will encounter him within his laboratory on the upper floors of the Woeful Fane. It should be noted that his acid effect cannot be blocked, protected against, or otherwise nullified through items. It can be evaded but players are recommended to go for the kill as fast as possible, regardless of class.

Recommended level: 13
Recommended stats: Strength(Dreadnoughts), Agility(Jackals)

  • Jackal: Jackals will want to equip the Aruval or any other weapon with Hook, so as to bypass the Wall skill. Damage is a must, stab is recommended.

  • Dreadnought: Dreadnoughts will want to equip the Iron Skeggox or any other weapons with Hook or Split, to bypass the Wall skill. Dreadnoughts are recommended to go all in on damage, so a two-handed weapon and skills such as Slam are ideal.

Karluk & Hatun

These dual enforcers can be encountered when talking to Bel after deciding whether to return the kidnapped alchemist or not. If the player has killed any of their members where it can be reported back to the cartel, the cartel will become hostile and attempt to kill you.

Recommended level: 15
Recommended stats: Strength(Dreadnoughts), Agility(Jackals)

  • Jackal: Jackals should lean into evasion with high agility, the sand toss skill, and the Fleet Footed Trait. Jackals are recommended to be around level 15 and should attempt to speed stall the duo and wear them down with sweep, hamstring, and puncture.

  • Dreadnought: Dreadnought players should bring either a two-handed weapon with slam or cleave, or a shield and one-handed weapon, depending on the build. Damage is key.

Cartel Torturer

The Cartel Torturer can be encountered when talking to Bel after deciding whether to return the kidnapped alchemist or not.

Jackals are recommended to be around level 15 and should abuse sweep and other damage modifying skills to kill him before his poison kicks in. Damage will be key as due to the poison effect he can inflict, most players are put on a short clock of three turns before his poison kicks in and inflicts heavy damage.

  • Dreadnought: Dreadnought players should bring either a two-handed weapon with a high damaging skill like slam, or a shield and one-handed weapon, depending on the build. Damage will be key as due to the poison effect he can inflict, most players are put on a short clock of three turns before his poison kicks in and inflicts heavy damage.

Volospa

Volospa can be encountered within the depths of the Woeful Fane. Once the player has scaled the tower and has reached the Laboratory, they’ll fight and kill the Alchemist. After killing him, players can discover a lever that can only be pulled by passing a strength check of 7, opening something within the depths of the tower. Players can then head back to the Ritual Chamber. Inside, they will find a hatch that leads to Volospa. Players can encounter her once inside and after freeing her, will be forced to fight.

Recommended level: 14
Recommended stats: None

  • Jackal: Volospa’s main weakness is her passive trait Marble Flesh. If the player bypasses the Fae’s armor in any way, this trait shatters all of her protection, leaving her with no defense. This can be abused through the Jackal skill Skewer, which once used, shatters her armor and leaves the remaining fight a cakewalk.

  • Dreadnought: Volospa’s main weakness is her passive trait Marble Flesh. If the player bypasses the Fae’s armor in any way, this trait shatters all of her protection, leaving her with no defense. This can be abused through the Dreadnought class skill Grapple Throw, which once used, shatters her armor and leaves the remaining fight a cakewalk.

Dark Titan

The Dark Titan can be found roaming around Dry Falls in the Underworld, after opening the Black Door to Pelizar.

Recommended level: 15
Recommended stats: Strength(Dreadnoughts), Agility(Jackals)

  • Jackal: The Dark Titan is immune to effects like disoriented or punctured, which can make tearing into his armor a difficult task. Players will want to use sweep, kick, and hamstring in conjunction to eliminate his speed. Afterward, players should use the focus skill to halve his armor and use stab to finish the job. The Ring of Kismet is also very useful, as stacking actions for one turn of nonstop attacks is more efficient, due to the effects of momentum.

  • Dreadnought: The Dark Titan is immune to effects like disoriented or punctured, which can make tearing into his armor a difficult task. He is also immune to the intimidate effect, so players are recommended to have high protection, through traits like Iron Skin or items like Full Plate Mail. Players should use skills like grappling throw and slam to apply effects for extra damage or to reduce the opponent’s speed. A potent two-handed weapon like Hammer of Nemesis is ideal for dealing lots of damage. The Relentless trait is also helpful.

Guardian

The Guardian can be found within the Raided Bank after the Sunken Hollows have been corrupted. He can only be accessed if the player chooses to spare Alma at the beginning of the game, as she is the only way to enter the vault. Once players have arrived, they’ll be stopped by Alma, suffering from the corruption of the mind. 7 charisma and a dark elixir will show her the light. After waiting for Alma to find the key, players will finally be able to unseal the vault. Inside is a boss and some black dust, so Theriac is recommended.

Recommended level: 16
Recommended stats: Strength(Dreadnoughts), Agility(Jackals)

  • Jackal: The Guardian is the meaner older brother of the Dark Titan and one of the hardest bosses in the game. The Guardian is built like a truck and hits like one too, having double his brother’s armor and practically two times his damage. The Guardian is also immune to effects like disoriented or punctured, which can make tearing into his armor a tall task. Luckily he can be approached in much the same way the Dark Titan can.

The Guardian is built like a truck and hits like one too, having double his brother’s armor and practically two times his damage. The Guardian is also immune to effects like disoriented or punctured, which can make tearing into his armor a tall task. He is immune to the intimidate effect as well, so players are recommended to have high protection, through traits like Iron Skin or items like Full Plate Mail. Luckily he can be approached in much the same way the Dark Titan can. Players should use skills like grappling throw and slam to apply effects for extra damage or to reduce the opponent’s speed. A potent two-handed weapon like Hammer of Nemesis is ideal for dealing lots of damage. The Relentless trait is also helpful.

Vanadis

Vanadis dwells within the Buried Palace, which can be accessed after the player opens the Black Door with Kaspar. The Buried Palace can be found to the west of Dead River, past the Dry Falls. This is where players can encounter and either kill or avoid the Dark Titan (Mentioned above). After dealing with the Dark Titan, players can then descend towards the palace. Once outside, players will have to use Theriac to enter the doors. After they enter, players will encounter Vanadis who must be killed for this achievement. Players pursuing The Other Side can choose to bend to her instead, although this will not complete the Apex Predator achievement.

Recommended level: 14
Recommended stats: None

  • Jackal: Vanadis’s main weakness is her passive trait Marble Flesh. If the player bypasses the Fae’s armor in any way, this trait shatters all of her protection, leaving her with no defense. This can be abused through the Jackal skill Skewer, which once used, shatters her armor and leaves the remaining fight a cakewalk.

  • Dreadnought: Vanadis’s main weakness is her passive trait Marble Flesh. If the player bypasses the Fae’s armor in any way, this trait shatters all of her protection, leaving her with no defense. This can be abused through the Dreadnought class skill Grapple Throw, which once used, shatters her armor and leaves the remaining fight a cakewalk.

Bel Marudek

Bel Marudek is one of the last bosses the player will fight, as he can only be attacked after retrieving the key off of the mayor in Pelizar and returning to the Black Door to seal it. Once there, Bel offers a trade. He will go peacefully in exchange for his wife, the soul that has taken up residence within your body. To fight him, the player must refuse to surrender the soul.

Recommended level: 17
Recommended stats: Strength(Dreadnoughts), Agility(Jackals)

  • Jackal: Bel Marudek is a very interesting boss fight, and likely one of the hardest fights in the game. He boasts no armor, a health bar close to the thousand, immunity to every status effect except for Staggered, and two minions that almost exclusively heal him by sacrificing their own lifeforce. His minions will also apply the Corrupted status effect, reducing player speed by 20%. Jackals should move away from status effects and instead go exclusively for damage using skills like stab or pummel. The ambidextrous trait also shines here, as it provides a secondary source of damage for basic attacks. Attacking his minions should be a priority as the healing they provide is not actually one to one, with Bel gaining more health than his minions sacrifice. After killing his two pocket healers, Bel should be a cakewalk.

  • Dreadnought: Bel Marudek is a very interesting boss fight, and likely one of the hardest fights in the game. He boasts no armor, a health bar close to the thousand, immunity to every status effect except for Staggered, and two minions that almost exclusively heal him by sacrificing their own lifeforce. His minions will also apply the Corrupted status effect, reducing player speed by 20%. Dreadnoughts should lean heavily into damage here, relying on skills like slam for damage and cleave or whirlwind for area of effect attacks. Attacking his minions should be a priority as the healing they provide is not actually one to one, with Bel gaining more health than his minions sacrifice. After killing his two pocket healers, Bel should be a cakewalk.

Song of the Drifter

Reona travels the world in search of songs. Tell the bard of your adventures.

  1. The first part of the song can be told to Reona as soon as the player meets her, in the lounge of the Molehouse. Simply entering the lounge and talking to her prompts the player to tell her what has happened so far. Regardless of what story the player tells her, she will simply respond that it is a promising start to a song and provide the player with some xp.

  2. The next piece of the song relates to the player's adventures surrounding the first tomb, with you being able to tell her after returning. Regardless of your choices, she will grant you some XP and will eagerly await tales of your next adventure.

  3. The third piece is told after returning from the second tomb (There might be a pattern here). Simply talk to her, tell her your story and she’ll reward the player some xp.

  4. The fourth part can be told to Reona after returning from Harrow Keep. Tell her of it and she will grant the player some xp.

  5. Tell her of your journey to the Woeful Fane and back, granting you some xp and finally completing the song, and consequently, this Achievement.

Lover

Get physical.

  1. The Courtesan
The Courtesan can first be encountered when returning from Harrow Keep. Once the player has returned to the Caravansary, She will greet them by the door. When talked to inside, if the player has a “good” Reputation with the Cartel, she will invite them into a room to deal with a problem. Players must choose to either punish or kill the debtor, as turning against the cartel will lock players out of this achievement. After dealing with the dilemma, she can then be asked to bed with you if the player has 4 or more charisma. Players looking to complete the Treasure Hunter achievement may want to decide to kill the debtor to earn the Drake Knife, if you can bear the guilt of gutting this innocent, albeit foolish soul.

  2. The Southerner
The southerner can be encountered if the player successfully persuades the Zajun King to sign the treaty, causing the Outpost to remain unmolested by the Zajun tribe. Once the player arrives they should head west to encounter caravaners. After the player talks to them, they will draw the attention of two siblings. If the player has 6 charisma or higher, they can approach the duo for some company. Either sibling works as they both give the achievement.

  3. The Banker and the Threesome
These were combined for ease of reference. Both are covered fairly extensively within the Crowd Pleaser achievement.

Crowd Pleaser

Fight in the Arena. Listen to the crowd. Give the people what they want.

This achievement is secretly crucial to any player attempting 100% because it actually hides several other achievement requirements within it. Acquiring this achievement is fairly easy, as it merely requires the player to listen to the crowd when choosing to either spare or kill the bosses within the Arena. After the player has beaten all of the bosses up to the tenth tier, they will be stopped when exiting the arena by a couple that are prominent fans of yours. They will give the player a bouquet of flowers (Including a flower that is required for the Forager achievement) and invite the player back to their Residence in High River for dinner. Afterward, they invite you to spend the night at their home and potentially a night in their bed. Before that though, the player is treated to dinner, which players can eat and fulfill 4 different objectives in the Connoisseur achievement by eating Figs, Dates, Auroch Steak or Walnut Cake. After the feast is taken care of, the player is invited into their bed for an unforgettable night.. These two actually make up the 3rd and 4th objectives for the Lover achievement, the first requiring you to sleep with either separately and the other requiring 5 charisma to sleep with both. After waking up the player can head out onto the balcony and pass a perception check of 4 for the moon orchid (One of the two locations to find this exotic flower and a required grab for the Forager achievement). Entering the round chamber and killing the sabertooth inside will also grant the player the golden medallion, an accessory that grants +1 Perception and is actually a required item for the Treasure Hunter achievement. Quite the generous couple.

Redeemer

Make the world a better place.

  1. Donate 500 gold to the temple
All this objective requires is that the player donates 500 gold to the beggar outside of the Temple in the Sunken Hollows. The player receives 25 xp once they’ve donated 100 gold but will not receive anymore xp for future deposits.

  2. Reunite Zanna with her mother
This objective is tied to the quest “Married to the Mob”. This can be started by talking with the Seamstress in the Marketplace. She’ll ask for the player’s help in finding her daughter and persuading her to leave the Five-Crux mob. Zanna can be found in Low River, with her boyfriend and his minions. Here the player can choose to either fight the mob and forcefully take Zanna to her mother or persuade her to at least return and help her mom with her job with 3 charisma. It should be noted that resolving this peacefully actually discounts the Exotic perfume that the seamstress sells to half its price, which is vital for any players hunting the Enhancer Achievement. This also completes the Peacemaker achievement, if resolved in a peaceful manner.

  3. Deliver the letter to the Apothecary
This letter is actually tied to the quest “Letter to his Father”. This can be started at the Outpost, regardless of whether it’s been destroyed or not. Once the player arrives at the Outpost, they must climb to the top of the tower and look around, spotting the Druid’s camp. After arriving, the nomad will grant the player a ruby if they told the Zajun King the animal the Nomad mentioned (For more details, reference the Peacemaker achievement). No matter your choice of animal, he will then ask the player to deliver a letter to his father, the apothecary. Once the player returns, they can simply give him the letter and cash the quest, finishing off this objective.

  4. Help the poisoned caravaner
This objective can be fairly difficult to track down, as it has some specific requirements. Firstly, the player must have negotiated peace with the King of Harrow Keep, have crafted an Antidote before leaving for the Outpost, and after leaving the Outpost, must follow the caravan. Once all of those are completed, the player must stay with the main body of the caravan the entire journey and choose to intervene when one of the Caravaners is bitten by a snake.

  5. Remove the curse from Kaspar
This objective is fairly easy and is crucial for several other objectives such as Treasure Hunter and the final objective for this achievement, as both require Kaspar to be alive during Pelizar. Neglecting to cure Kaspar with the Antidote before opening the Black Door seals Kaspar’s fate, turning him into a lumbering ghoul once encountered. To prevent this, players will need to take a few steps to learn what is required to cure him. After returning from the tomb of the Akim, Players will need to ask the priest within the temple about the method to cure Kaspar’s hex. The priest will direct the player to the Apothecary, who claims that it can be alleviated with a simple Antidote. The player can cure Kaspar anytime after accruing the antidote, although he is most accessible after beginning “The Dig” quest, as he will remain in the Caverns until the Black Door is opened.

  6. Help the slaves at the dig site
This objective is pretty straightforward. Once Kaspar starts work within the Underground Caverns, players stopping by will be prompted to stop or ignore a fleeing slave. If the player chooses to let the slave flee, the topic of slavery can be brought up with Kaspar. When confronted on his use of slave labor, he deflects the blame to the Mayor and the Slavemaster. The player can then talk to the mayor and persuade him to let the slaves go free for 5 charisma. The player can also confront the slavemaster, telling him to ease up on the slaves because the mayor demanded it, regardless of the mayor’s actual response.

  7. Save Leon from the black wind
This can be fairly tricky to achieve as it requires a few steps. Players familiar with the “Red Serpent Caravan” Quest will know that they have to track down two brothers who recently disappeared. Kutty can be found as a decaying corpse in the basement, but Leon will be a bit trickier to track down. After talking with the merchant outside of the Caravansary, he will point you to the home of Merchant Brock. Once there, players will save Leon but will be locked in a room and pitted against each other. Players will need to either pass a strength check 4 or use a lockpick to break out. Players will then need to fight Merchant Brock (Allowing players to grab the black trident for the Treasure Hunter achievement.) and save Leon. We won’t be seeing much of Leon until Kutty’s funeral in the “Burial” quest and his final interaction within Pelizar. Once the player has entered the Empty Market, they'll be prompted to look for survivors, where they can encounter Nat defending the wreckage of her caravan. The player is required to give her one of the dark elixirs to cure her. She will then tell the player about losing Leon and will guide the player towards him. After arriving, the player has to pass a charisma check of 5 to persuade him to back down or he will fight and die against the player.

  8. Reunite Kaspar with his daughter
This heartwarming reunion can be fairly easy to achieve, once players know the right steps. Players have to cure Kaspar (See objective 5) and side with the cartel. If the player maintains a good reputation with the cartel and gives the key to Bey when prompted, Kaspar will be reunited with his daughter in the end credits, with you living a life of wealth in the shadows.

Agitator

Bel Marudek is taking over. He must be stopped. Incite a rebellion. Find and recruit people for the cause. They will most likely bring friends to the party.

This achievement requires the player to calm three different groups of people within the Sunken Hollows after Pelizar has emerged, to recruit them to fight against Bel Marudek. The citizens of the Sunken Hollows can be found in every location within Pelizar barring a few places like the Black Abyss, Cry River, Buried Palace, and Landslide. All encounters that have normal civilians require a charisma of 5 or more to defuse the situation while more notable characters generally require either 7 charisma and an elixir, or just an elixir to clear their madness. The slavemaster appears to be a unique exception in that he requires 7 charisma and no elixir. Elixirs can be used on Kaspar, Bey, Priest, Nat, Alma, and Colosseum bosses such as Chuck and Nathanael. It should be noted that Kaspar actually turns into a ghoul if the player left his hex untreated before opening the black door. Many named characters provide other opportunities if cured, with Nat, Bey, and the Priest gaining new ending slides, Kaspar providing weapons and trinkets, and Alma, who helps open the Bank’s vault, which is crucial for any players looking to fight the Guardian in the Apex Predator achievement. The Priest also grants a quest and gives you the Blessed Amulet of Ebiddon.

The Other Side

The demon Bel Marudek has returned. Bow down. Do his bidding.

  1. Bow down to Vanadis
Vanadis can be found within the buried palace in Pelizar. Once the player has beaten or snuck around the Dark Titan, They will be able to approach the opened Black Door but will be repelled by buffeting winds, slowly taking damage over time. This can be counteracted by using Theriac, which can be either bought or made through the Apothecary. After entering the door, the players will encounter the white fae Vanadis, the sister of Volospa who is sealed within the bottom of the Woeful Fane. The player may then choose to fight her (required for Apex Predator) or kneel before her and swear allegiance to Bel Marudek. Choosing to fight Vanadis will fail this achievement.

  2. Destroy the mystic
This can only be done after completing the first objective in this achievement. After swearing allegiance to Bel Marudek, Vanadis will send you on your way with a mission. Deliver a message to the mystic. She can be confronted once the player has left the transformed caverns, with the player invoking Vanadis’s name. I will not spoil it but it is well worth the time for the sheer spectacle. The Black Talon Gauntlet can be picked up from her corpse.

  3. Murder the priest
This can be done after the player heads to the Lost Temple and interacts with Bel Marudek. The player can ask how best to serve Bel and he will tell the player to sever the priest’s head. The player must then look for survivors outside and simply kill him. Any attempts to fight Bel Marudek will sour all trust and will prevent the player from progressing with this achievement.

  4. Kill Merchant Brock
This can be started after meeting Bel Marudek in the arena and asking how best to serve him. He will request that the player go and kill Merchant Brock, returning with his heart. Even if the player has already killed Brock, he will make a reappearance at his old home in the former High River. The player must then kill him and return with his heart. Taking Brock’s deal will invalidate this quest, but is worth checking out on a different playthrough, due to its interesting implications.

  5. Bow down to Bel Marudek
This is fairly simple. After approaching Bel Marudek within the arena, he will command you to bow to him. Simply do so and this objective is yours.

  6. Rule by his side
This tricky objective can only be done under very specific circumstances. The player must first choose to enter the tomb within the Lost Temple that houses Bel’s original body and search for a secret sarcophagus. Once discovered, the player will gain several stat boosting clothes that are key to convincing Bel Marudek. The player must also have 7 base charisma, an astounding 10 with the clothes equipped. Afterward, the player must approach Bel Marudek and claim to be his wife, the spirit that is possessing you. If the player succeeds, they shall live a life of lavish royalty after waiting for the sunset.

  7. Wait for sunrise
So long as the player chooses not to fight Bel Marudek, they can simply wait for sunrise, accomplishing this objective.

Crossroads of Destiny

Choose your fate.

This achievement is fairly easy, as it merely requires the player to finish the game and see the three primary endings for the game. Once you have closed the Black Door, the player has the choice to either keep the key and rule the city, forfeit the key to one of the major factions, and retire there (This is required for saving Kaspar’s daughter in the Redeemer achievement.), or instead leave the city, returning to a life of wandering and vagrancy. After the player has tried all three options, they will be granted the achievement.
